WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FIRST TREATMENT?
The first treatment will take approximately 1-2 hours, when a full health history will be taken, comprising of questions regarding your sleep, appetite, digestion and emotional issues, so an individual treatment plan can be formulated.
After the diagnosis has been completed, treatment will start by inserting very fine, single use, sterile needles into specific areas of the body to aid health and well-being. Some needles may be left in for 15-20 minutes and others may be quickly inserted and removed.

Other Chinese Medicine modalities may be used, such as cupping, Guasha or Moxa. I will discuss all aspects of treatment with you.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

SHOULD I TELL MY DOCTORÂ THAT I AM HAVING TREATMENT?

Your medical and health history will be discussed with me and any medications or supplements that you are currently taking will be discussed. Do not stop taking any medication.

I have been trained to recognise potentially serious underlying health conditions and I can refer you to your Doctor if required.
WHAT DO ACUPUNCTURE NEEDLES FEEL LIKE?
Acupuncture needles are incredibly fine, and unlike those at the Doctor's surgery. When inserted, most people don't feel anything at all. When the energy of the meridian is activated, it is normal to feel a dull ache or tingling.
Treatment should feel relaxing, and many people have an 'acu-nap' or a 'snooze' once needles are in place.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Occasionally some people can feel slightly dizzy or tired after treatment, especially if lying down for 20-25 minutes. It is recommended to eat a small snack before your appointment as this can help.

At times, a small bruise may appear when the needle is removed, this is normal and will dissipate within a few days.

APPOINTMENT TIME
It's important that you turn up at the time of your appointment promptly, as there is no waiting area due to Covid-19.

If you turn up late to an appointment you may not have your full treatment time or may be asked to rebook and a charge may be levied.
